Cookham is in Berkshire and Marlow is in Buckinghamshire, so every journey crosses the Thames. By car the shortest route is over Marlow Bridge: about 3.9 miles and 10 minutes from the High Street, 3.5 miles and 9 minutes from Cookham Rise station, and 2.7 miles and 8 minutes from Cookham Dean war memorial. The alternative over Cookham Bridge is 4.9, 5.4 and 6.5 miles, and 11, 13 and 16 minutes. These are estimates from map routing rather than timed drives, so allow a little longer at busy times.
Marlow Bridge is Grade I listed, with a 3 tonne maximum authorised mass limit (your vehicle's weight including its maximum permitted load, not its empty weight) and a narrow width limit. Check the figure on your vehicle's plate or hire documents. For a van, cross Cookham Bridge (A4094) to Bourne End, then take the A4155 to Little Marlow Road, Parkway and Fieldhouse Lane, arriving from the east without entering Marlow town centre. Cookham Bridge is single lane with traffic lights and has its own 7.5 tonne weight limit, so check the signs there too.
Once you're there, you let yourself in by smart entry, any day from 6am to 10pm.
