It's about 15 miles by road, roughly 25 minutes in clear traffic: Green Lane to the A244, then over the Thames on Walton Bridge into Walton-on-Thames. From there Ashley Road, Queens Road and Seven Hills Road lead to the A245 and the A3, and a short run on the M25 brings you to the A243 and the A245 Leatherhead By-Pass. The router's fastest option was a 16-mile motorway detour, so the Walton Bridge route is the one to follow. That's an estimate from map routing rather than a timed drive, so allow a little longer at busy times.
With smart entry you can come and go any day from 6am to 10pm, which helps if the van loads are fitted around work.

Leatherhead has a ground floor and a first floor, and the floor changes the price. A locker on the ground floor starts at £11 a week. A 50 sq ft unit, about right for a studio flat, is £61.50 a week on the first floor and £76 on the ground floor, and a 100 sq ft unit is £104 or £131 for the same two floors. Shepperton sits where the Thames bends below Walton Bridge, and the village is best known for the film studios that have worked here since 1931. St Nicholas Church was rebuilt around 1600 and the tower added in 1710. The bridge is also your way out: Leatherhead is the nearest Wigwam, across the river.

This was a convenient storage facility for me to hold a load of stuff temporarily. The booking process was straightforward and the staff (based in Chipping Norton) very helpful and 'on the ball' if there were any issues. Security to the unit is managed by phone app with no physical key. This was not an issue for me. The facility generally is clean and secure.
The only issue for me was a lack of a lift to storage units on the first floor, which Wigwam were able to fix by finding a ground floor unit.
Would I use again? Yes.

Just moved my stuff into the Leatherhead branch and honestly couldn't be happier. The WW team were absolute lifesavers — super patient, really friendly, and helped me figure out the exact unit size I needed so I wasn't wasting money.The place is spotless and feels really secure. It's also dead easy to load and unload because they have plenty of trolleys right by the door. Using the phone app to open the gates is a massive bonus too, way better than messing around with padlocks or pad codes.Got a great deal with the 50% off intro offer as well. If you need storage around here, definitely use these guys.

The only real issue was that I found getting the app activated was quite a bug laden experience, most two factor authentications I deal with routinely work rather more seamlessly, albeit I'm in my seventies and although I consider myself to be digitally literate sometimes these things stump me. Any way once I had that sorted everything went smoothly, easy access to the facility, access system worked perfectly. Also pleased to find a toilet at the facility.

Firstly, I have to say, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The unit and site itself was very clean and tidy. I was a little apprehensive when told the unit and site was unstaffed and controlled via an app but I neednt have been worried. You download an app and press the icon within the app to open doors/ shutter and the unit, so easy. Theres no staff onsite but If you have problems, the staff are on the end of a telephone who I am sure will be more than happy to help. On initial viewing, i spoke with someone on the phone who opened up the site and unit for me to view.

Would highly recommend using WigWam in Leatherhead. The units are clean, spacious and competitively priced. The customer service is also excellent, couldn't have asked for better and will definitely use again in the future if required. No hesitation in recommending.

I had a great experience with with Wigwam Leatherhead - I opened a unit (to store items for an elderly relative) just before Wigwam took over. The onsite team was really helpful with choosing the right unit and when I vastly overestimated what I would need they helped me to adjust my booking/account for two small mini units instead. I was nervous about the digital locks for the door and units but that went really smoothly, and I only once had an issue with gaining entry to the site, which I'm certain was an issue with my phone rather than their system (I now think that maybe it was because I was running a VPN without realising). When I was locked out I called the support number and Lenny was really helpful and (after taking me through security authentication) got me into the site and the unit. The huge benefit of the digital key system is that you can more easily share access with other people. When I closed down the unit, Lenny and the team were really efficient at processing the outgoing paperwork and returning the deposit and the small refund that we were owed. The site is secure, has great availability hours and the only downside at that site is that there isn't a lift, but the new Dorking site has a lift, and when we had the need to store a much larger amount of 'stuff' (that we absolutely couldn't go up and down the stairs with) we got a great deal on a unit at Dorking. Our interactions have all been positive with Wigwam (and with the previous owners).

Absolutely faultless. First class service from Serena and Richard when checking in and again from Emma when checking out. There are units of various sizes; mine was good value - about £100 a month including insurance, and they now have Bluetooth/App entry and tracking for extra ease and security on site. No catches when ending (short term) rental and prompt return of deposit when I emptied my locker. Thank you very much.

Julie and Serena have been absolutely amazing. From the first enquiry to check out they have both been so helpful and accommodating. I have used a number of storage facilities within the Surrey area and pink hippo is by far the best. Nothing is ever to much trouble for Serena and Julie. They both do their upmost to accommodate your needs. I cannot recommend Pink Hippo self Storage enough. Brilliant!!!!

I had a storage unit here for over a year, and the process was completely seamless and more than I could have asked for. Julie and the team will accommodate all your needs and are on hand every working day to help. Security at the site is 24/7 and so is access, giving great flexibility around your needs. When I looked, Pink Hippo was better than priced than any other local alternatives. The units are all in fantastic condition with great security and access. I highly recommend it to everyone! I’ve used this storage unit for a while, and I loved it. Access to the unit 24/7, clean, fair prices, the cctv system makes me feel my valuables are in safe. The customer service is amazing. The two sisters behind the reception, Julie and Serena are so nice, friendly and helpful. Their kindness is endless, and they knew how running the great business. I will never go anywhere else if I need storage again!

Julie and Serena have been great all the time I have had my two storage unit. Both are extremely friendly and lovely. I needed storage very quickly and they were able to accommodate my request. The ladies run a great business. They are very affordable and the units are clean and well maintained. Access to the unit is very flexible. There are no catches. I would definitely recommend this storage facility over any other for sure. If you have storage needs, come here! You will be looked after and your valuables are secure.

Is there a Wigwam store in Shepperton?
No. We serve Shepperton from Wigwam Leatherhead on Barnett Wood Lane, about 15 miles away.
How long does the drive take?
About 25 minutes in clear traffic, crossing the river at Walton Bridge. That's a routing estimate, so allow longer at busy times.
When can I get to my unit?
Any day from 6am to 10pm, using smart entry. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm, and closed on Sunday.
Is there a lift?
No. The first floor at Leatherhead is stairs only. Ground-floor units are step-free, so choose those for anything heavy.
Which way do I cross the river?
Walton Bridge, on the A244. It's the start of the route to Leatherhead, and it avoids the longer motorway detour.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. We're not currently taking deposits from new customers.
How long do I have to stay?
The minimum stay is two weeks. After that you stay as long as you need and give 14 days' notice when you're ready to leave.
Do I need insurance?
Everything you store needs cover: our contents protection, or your own policy if it covers goods in self storage. Send us proof within 14 days of moving in and we'll refund the contents protection charges.
