It's about 5.5 miles by road, roughly 15 minutes in clear traffic: along Reading Road to the A4 London Road, into Reading, then round the inner ring road and out on the Oxford Road to Portman Road and Bridgewater Close. That's an estimate from map routing rather than a timed drive, so allow longer at busy times.
That is a quarter of an hour, and smart entry works any day from 6am to 10pm, so small jobs are as easy as big ones.
Small unit, small price
The first-floor units cost less than ground-floor ones of the same size, which keeps seasonal kit cheap to store. The ground floor goes up to sizes big enough for a whole house.

Reading has two floors, and the floor changes the price. A 20 sq ft unit starts at £15 a week on the first floor and £19 on the ground floor, and a 50 sq ft unit at £29 or £38.50. The 150 sq ft size is on the ground floor at £87.50 a week. Every size is listed on our Reading storage prices page, and storage is billed every four weeks rather than by calendar month.

Great company. I wasn't sure what size unit I needed and they were so helpful with plenty of advice even offering to let me see the units before I decided. When I booked my unit it was so quick and easy I just needed some ID docs and signed the contract then straight away I had my unit. They use an app to access the storage facility and it was so easy to use. Also they were the best value. They even phoned me to check everything was okay and that I didn't have any problems with the app or access. I would definitely recommend Wigwam for storage with lovely friendly staff and easy to set up and access.

They're in a very convenient location, with lots of parking for cars and also close to the 17 bus. The facilities are always clean and well-lit, and I cannot say enough about the fantastic staff. Peri and Emma are always cheery, helpful, and friendly. Reasonable prices, as well. It's great!

After being with Pink Hippo Reading for quite a while now, I cannot express how happy I am with their service. The lockers are well-priced and the facility is clean, however, the staff really make the company what it is. They have been understanding, professional and incredibly helpful with the organisation of my unit from overseas. I couldn´t have asked for more and I would recommend them a thousand times over.

Woodley storage: useful things to know
Is there a Wigwam store in Woodley?
No. We serve Woodley from Wigwam Reading on Bridgewater Close, about 5.5 miles away by road.
How long does the drive take?
About 15 minutes in clear traffic, along the A4 into Reading. That's a routing estimate, so allow longer at busy times.
When can I get to my unit?
Any day from 6am to 10pm, using smart entry. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
Which floor is cheaper?
The first floor. At Reading a first-floor unit costs less than a ground-floor unit of the same size, and access is step-free throughout.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. We're not currently taking deposits from new customers.
How long do I have to stay?
The minimum stay is two weeks. After that you stay as long as you need and give 14 days' notice when you're ready to leave.
Do I need insurance?
Everything you store needs cover: our contents protection, or your own policy if it covers goods in self storage. Send us proof within 14 days of moving in and we'll refund the contents protection charges.
