The default route is about 5.4 miles and 14 minutes in clear traffic: Bath Road, Southcote Road, Tilehurst Road and Oxford Road, then Beresford Road. Mapping data tags Beresford Road as a narrow one-way street about 2 metres wide, which is not independently confirmed, so check the signs and your vehicle's width with the hire firm before relying on it. The alternative stays on Oxford Road to Norcot Roundabout, then Wigmore Lane and Portman Road: about 5.9 miles and 16 minutes, avoiding Beresford Road. These are estimates from map routing rather than timed drives, so allow a little longer at busy times.
Once you're there, you let yourself in by smart entry, any day from 6am to 10pm.
Van route via Norcot
Use the Norcot Roundabout route with a van. Bridgewater Close is also a few miles from the M4 and a short run from Reading West station.

If you have seen Wigwam Reading listed under Theale somewhere, that is a loose label: we have no site in Theale. Our unit is on Bridgewater Close on the west side of Reading, and the choice of route into it matters more than the mileage.

Great experience, setting up and using the app is really simple. Lenny and Holly were really helpful on the phone and were able to help us upgrade to a bigger storage unit super fast once we arrived and realised ours was too small

Great company. I wasn't sure what size unit I needed and they were so helpful with plenty of advice even offering to let me see the units before I decided. When I booked my unit it was so quick and easy I just needed some ID docs and signed the contract then straight away I had my unit. They use an app to access the storage facility and it was so easy to use. Also they were the best value. They even phoned me to check everything was okay and that I didn't have any problems with the app or access. I would definitely recommend Wigwam for storage with lovely friendly staff and easy to set up and access.

They're in a very convenient location, with lots of parking for cars and also close to the 17 bus. The facilities are always clean and well-lit, and I cannot say enough about the fantastic staff. Peri and Emma are always cheery, helpful, and friendly. Reasonable prices, as well. It's great!

After being with Pink Hippo Reading for quite a while now, I cannot express how happy I am with their service. The lockers are well-priced and the facility is clean, however, the staff really make the company what it is. They have been understanding, professional and incredibly helpful with the organisation of my unit from overseas. I couldn´t have asked for more and I would recommend them a thousand times over.

Theale storage: useful things to know
Is there a Wigwam store in Theale?
No. Our nearest is Wigwam Reading on Bridgewater Close, about 5.4 miles from Theale High Street.
How long does the drive take?
Around 14 minutes by the default route and 16 minutes by the Norcot Roundabout alternative, in clear traffic. These are routing estimates, so allow longer at busy times.
Which way should I drive with a van?
Use the alternative route via Norcot Roundabout, which avoids the narrow Beresford Road. Check your vehicle's width with the hire firm before you rely on either route.
When can I get to my unit?
Any day from 6am to 10pm, by smart entry. The office is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No deposit is needed. We're not currently taking deposits from new customers.
How long do I have to stay?
The minimum stay is two weeks. After that you stay as long as you need and give 14 days' notice when you're ready to leave.
Do I need insurance?
Everything you store needs cover: our contents protection, or your own policy if it covers goods in self storage. Send us proof within 14 days of moving in and we'll refund the contents protection charges.
Is the Reading site near the M4?
Yes. Bridgewater Close is a few miles from the M4 and a short run from Reading West station.
