2 Newman Lane,
Alton, GU34 2QR
It's about 11.3 miles by road, roughly 20 minutes in clear traffic, and Newman Lane in Alton is just off the A31. That is an estimate from map routing, not a timed drive, so allow longer at busy times.
It is worth the drive for the hours alone: smart entry opens your unit any day from 6am to 10pm.
Planning a summer move?
Prices move with demand, so booking ahead for a busy summer move is sensible.
Choose the space you need
Use these as a starting point. The Alton team can help you choose.
Illustrative sizes and contents. Unit types and availability vary.
Floor does not change the price at Alton, so a first-floor unit costs the same as one on the ground. A 35 sq ft unit is £24.50 a week and a 100 sq ft unit is £57.50. See every size on the Alton storage prices page. Storage is billed every four weeks.

Why Liss people store with us
Liss sits inside the South Downs National Park and is really two settlements either side of the River Rother: the older West Liss, and the village that grew up around the 19th-century station on the Portsmouth Direct line. Wherever you set out from locally, the road to Alton is the same one.
Moving home
Keep your things together while the move catches up, with storage for your move.
Renovating
Take furniture and boxes out of the way for a spell, then return them when the room is ready.
Business storage
Overflow stock or equipment for a small business. See business storage.
Decluttering
On a longer trip it helps to make one load count. Decluttering storage takes the overflow.

I left a well-known storage unit for Wigwam, mainly because of cost, wigwam are more reasonable, the unit is clean and is entry availablity is upto 10pm. You work off an app that allows entry not only to the building also to your rented unit. It is safe, No fear of loosing keys. The staff very helpful. Highly recommended.

I needed to organise a storage unit on a pretty quick turn around- thankfully having had one at the Alton site before they were able to do so.
Lenny called as soon as I emailed and was extremely helpful on making this process quick and easy so i could get into the unit the next day.
there was an issue with the app when i went to use the unit but i emailed Lenny and he rang back within 5 mins and managed to resolve the issue very quickly.
would recommend and thanks to Lenny for making the process smooth.

Decent website, helpful and rapid responses to queries. Took the time to do a guided tour via phone to help me determine the appropriate unit size. Fast and efficient onboarding and the facility is clean and looks reasonably secure. Other than that, it's a storage space that you can store things in. Reasonable costs. App does the job for opening the doors and stuff. V.Happy so far.

Absolutely fantastic service!!!
Holly was an absolute star, we were panicking as we were in the middle of our house moving and needed a quick storage area. Less then an hour after our first call we were already putting boxes to our Storage.
The site is nice and clean, the entry system is truly clever and makes the storage Access easy and quick.
Customer service is top notch 👌

Great facility! Easy to access, good instructions. The outstanding service was from the team at the head office, they were incredibly responsive, helpful and personable. You made a stressful situation SO much better, thank you. Still using the storage but know that the company is super flexible if I need to shorten or make it longer.
My one suggestion is to extend the timers on the doors when entering the storage unit as sometimes it enough time to unload big deliveries onto a trolley and get back to the unit building before the doors close!
All in all, AMAZING company! Couldn’t recommend more 🙂

Excellent new storage facility in Alton. Clean and well organised. All opened up using an app so no staff on site so it’s very quiet. I cannot praise the office staff highly enough. I made an error of judgment when I chose the size of unit I thought I required. After nearly filling the original unit I realised my mistake and within half an hour I was allocated a bigger unit down the hall which made relocating to it much easier. As it was also a Friday night when I realised my error they allowed me to have the two units until the next day to give me time to swap over. The staff were so helpful and made a stressful day much easier than it could have been.
Response from the owner
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us! We know how difficult it can be to rent a storage unit for the first time, so it makes us very happy to hear that you had a smooth experience thanks to the team at our Alton store. We hope to see you again soon!1 year ago

App worked smoothly - site is clean and modern, unit was sensibly designed and easy to get to. Only tiny complaint is our unit was about as far away from the front door as it can be (albeit without having to use the lift) but I guess someone has to be 🙂 The roller doors on the 100 sq ft unit we have were beautifully balanced such that you'll want to be careful you don't use too much force when opening and closing them. The trolleys might take a little bit of time to get used to the rear-wheel steering particularly when heavy loaded but if you're used to somewhere like B&Q you'll be fine.
For full disclosure, we've only just rented the unit and filled it up, but the experience so far has been great. Response times to emails and helpfulness of staff has been excellent.
Response from the owner
We’re delighted to hear that you found the site modern and easy to navigate, and that the unit met your expectations.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the unit’s location and the roller doors—your insights help us improve our service. If you would like to move to a unit that is closer to the entrance, please do call us and we can see what is available.
We understand that the trolleys can take a bit of navigating and adjusting to rear-wheel steering can take a little time, this is something we will look in to and thank you for the feedback.
It’s wonderful to hear that our staff has been responsive and helpful, and we’re thrilled that your experience has been positive. If there’s anything else we can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.2 years ago

Very impressed with this brand new storage facility. The security and access is very impressive and it’s so easy using my mobile to open the gates and doors. I spoke with Helen and Sarah who were brilliant and made moving in my stuff very simple. Well done Wigwam, I am glad you've opened in Alton.
Liss storage: useful things to know
Is there a Wigwam store in Liss?
No. We serve Liss from Wigwam Alton on Newman Lane, about 11.3 miles away by road.
How long does the drive take?
Around 20 minutes in clear traffic. That is a routing estimate, so allow longer at busy times.
When can I get to my unit?
Storage access runs from 6am to 10pm every day with smart entry. The office keeps Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm hours.

How long do I have to stay?
The minimum stay is two weeks. After that you stay as long as you need and give 14 days' notice when you're ready to leave.
Do I need insurance?
Everything you store needs cover: our contents protection, or your own policy if it covers goods in self storage. Send us proof within 14 days of moving in and we'll refund the contents protection charges.
