It's 1.9 miles by road from Batheaston, 2.1 from Bathampton and 2.5 from Bathford. All three routes run down London Road, the old Roman road into the city, and York Place is just off it. From Batheaston the Fosse Way comes down off Bannerdown hill and joins London Road, so it's one road and one turn. These are estimates from map routing rather than timed drives. Central Bath had a temporary 7.5-tonne limit on roads including London Road and Queen Square while Cleveland Bridge was repaired (as at September 2026), so look at the signs if your vehicle is large.

Once you're there, you let yourself in with smart entry any day from 6am to 10pm, so loading before work or in the evening both work.

We found ourselves in a fix when my mums purchase failed to complete on a Friday so could not move in a van full of her belongings, so needed a storage unit at zero notice large enough to fit a Luton van of contents. Wigwam were so understanding and helpful and arranged for the unit to be available so quickly - a real godsend! As we only needed it for a week they explained how to only pay for 2 weeks rather than the normal month- so much cheaper that keeping the hire van van for a further week - thank you!

I enquired about a unit a few weeks ago and was helped by a lovely young lady called Selina. She showed me the units and gave me all the info I needed and followed up on email to make sure I had all the info. I also had some dealings with Sasha and she was equally as helpful. I’ve had a great experience with Wigwam Storage in Bath. The whole place is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Salina has been amazing — always friendly, approachable, and happy to help whenever needed. I feel completely secure leaving my things here thanks to the excellent security system. The app and access system make it really easy to get in and out whenever I need to, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other options in the area. I had a really positive experience moving in at Wigwam. Staff there (Selina in particular) kept me posted regularly and provided good transparent information about costs and unit availability. On my removal date, the staff showed the movers to the unit and everything went entirely smoothly. Wigwam is not a cheap option but the level of service is excellent - they also have a cool app to access the unit.

Very happy with Wigwam storage. Entry is easy via the app and there is easy access to all the units and a large lift to the upper floors. There are trolleys available to transport your stuff to/from your car if you have large or heavy items. The staff have been really helpful and respond quickly to queries. Would definitely recommend.

I needed local storage so my friend recommended this place ! I went along to look round I just can not believe how much space they can offer you all dry clean well lit and importantly safe!! They think of everything there trolleys lifts and electric tail Lift so you don’t have to struggle in and out with your things lots of parking too The best thing that made me hire space is the ladies in reception they were so accommodating and helpful so thank you

Batheaston storage: useful things to know

Is there a Wigwam store in Batheaston, Bathampton or Bathford?

No. We serve all three from Wigwam Bath at York Place on London Road, between 1.9 and 2.5 miles away.

How long does the drive take?

It's a short run down London Road: 1.9 miles from Batheaston, 2.1 from Bathampton and 2.5 from Bathford. We haven't timed it, so allow for city traffic.

When can I get to my unit?

Any day from 6am to 10pm, using smart entry. The office is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm.

Is the ground floor or the first floor cheaper?

It depends on the size, because Bath's prices don't run in one direction by floor. Check both columns on the price page for your size.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No. We're not currently taking deposits from new customers.

How long do I have to stay?

The minimum stay is two weeks. After that you stay as long as you need and give 14 days' notice when you're ready to leave.

Do I need insurance?

Everything you store needs cover: our contents protection, or your own policy if it covers goods in self storage. Send us proof within 14 days of moving in and we'll refund the contents protection charges.
