No, we don't publish a long-stay or pay-ahead discount. Our price lists have one price per unit, per week and per four weeks. Two of our site pages (the Alton and Bath cost pages) do mention a discount for paying 12 months upfront or for longer stays, so ask. The saving we do run is an introductory offer on your first weeks: on 23 September 2026 our online quote showed 50% or 75% off the first 8 weeks as the usual offer, with 50% off the first 12 weeks at Lincoln and 50% off the first 4 weeks at Leatherhead. Over a year's storage that is worth roughly 4% to 12% of the total. If you'd like to pay a year ahead, ask whether there's a discount for paying ahead when you book, and make sure any rate we agree is written into your agreement.
The introductory offer, site by site
These are the offers our online quote showed on 23 September 2026. Offers change, and at some sites they apply to selected unit sizes only, so the offer shown against the unit in your own quote is the one that applies.
| Site | Offer on 23 September 2026 |
|---|---|
| Alton, Burton-on-Trent, March, Tewkesbury | 75% off the first 8 weeks |
| Bath, Bristol Hengrove, Bromsgrove, Cheltenham, Dorking, Marlow, Reading, Warminster | 50% off the first 8 weeks |
| Lincoln | 50% off the first 12 weeks |
| Leatherhead | 50% off the first 4 weeks |
| Chipping Norton | 50% off the first 4 weeks, on drive-up units |
| Shipston-on-Stour | No offer showing |
At Lincoln, the quote also marked the 16 sq ft unit with an additional student discount.
What the offer is worth over a longer stay
An introductory offer is a fixed saving at the start. After the offer weeks, your unit is charged at the site's standard price for as long as you keep it. So the longer you stay, the smaller the offer is as a share of what you pay:
| Offer | Weeks' storage saved | Share of a 26-week stay | Share of a 52-week stay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50% off the first 4 weeks | 2 | about 8% | about 4% |
| 50% off the first 8 weeks | 4 | about 15% | about 8% |
| 75% off the first 8 weeks | 6 | about 23% | about 12% |
| 50% off the first 12 weeks | 6 | about 23% | about 12% |
A worked example: a 50 sq ft first-floor unit at Reading is £116 every four weeks on our September 2026 price list. A year is 13 four-week periods, so £1,508 at the standard price. With 50% off the first 8 weeks, the first two periods are £58 each, and the year comes to £1,392, a saving of £116. That assumes the price doesn't change during the year (see below).
If you're staying a long time, the offer still saves you real money, so take it. It just won't bring the whole year down by the headline percentage.
Paying upfront
Our standard way to pay is the first four weeks when you book, then every four weeks after that by card or Direct Debit (payment options). Our terms take each payment in advance "on the invoice date for each Storage Period or other date agreed with You" (clause 5(a)), so a different payment arrangement can be agreed.
Our cost pages for Alton and Bath mention a discount for paying 12 months upfront and special offers for longer stays. Neither is on our price lists, so if paying a year ahead matters to you, for a business budget or because you'll be abroad, call us on 0800 2545585 before you book and ask three things:
- whether there's a discount for paying ahead, and how much;
- whether the price is held for the period you've paid for;
- what happens to the prepaid weeks if you need to leave early.
Get the answers in writing. Our terms say only what is in your agreement counts: descriptions on our website aren't part of it, and any special terms have to be recorded in writing (clause 46).
On price, our standard terms don't include a price freeze, whether you pay ahead or not. Under clause 45 we can change the Storage Fee by telling you in writing. The new price starts on your first payment date at least 28 days after our notice, and you can end your agreement without charge before it takes effect. We can't say how often prices will change, but because of clause 45 you'll always hear from us in writing at least 28 days before a new price applies.
Keep the discount you've been given
One clause is worth knowing before you book. If you don't pay on a due date, "the value of any discounts and special offers (including periods of free storage) which You have received will be payable by You in full" (clause 6). In the Reading example, one missed payment could put the £116 saved back on your bill. Paying by Direct Debit, and keeping the card or account details we hold up to date, is the simplest protection. If you'll be abroad, keep the card or Direct Debit account we take payments from valid for the whole stay (check the card's expiry date), because a payment that fails while you're away counts as a missed one under clause 6.
Real ways to pay less
- Take the right size. Taking beds and tables apart and stacking to the ceiling can drop you a whole size band. How much it costs to store furniture shows prices by size and town.
- Ask about upper floors. At some sites upper-floor units are cheaper than the same size on the ground floor. At Leatherhead a 150 sq ft unit is £612 every four weeks on the first floor and £768 on the ground floor.
- Book at a site with a longer offer if more than one is within reach: 75% off 8 weeks, or 50% off 12 weeks, saves six weeks' storage against four.
- End it as soon as you're done. Either of us can end the agreement with written notice, and the notice period is on your agreement (clause 41), so give notice as soon as you know your move-out date.
