On our September 2026 price list, storing the furniture from a one-bedroom flat (about 50 sq ft) costs around £140 every four weeks. A two-bedroom flat (about 75 sq ft) is around £176, and a furnished three-bedroom house (about 100 sq ft) around £230. That's the middle of the range: the same size can cost roughly half as much, or more than twice as much, depending on which town it's in and which floor the unit is on. Introductory offers can bring the first few weeks down further, and the online quote shows today's price for your nearest site.

How much space does your furniture need?
From our own size guidance:
- A one-bedroom flat usually fits in 50 to 75 sq ft, depending on how much furniture you have.
- A two-bedroom flat usually fits in 75 sq ft.
- A typical furnished three-bedroom house usually fits in 100 sq ft: bedroom furniture, a living room suite, a dining table and chairs, kitchen appliances and 40 to 60 boxes.
- If the loft, garage and shed are coming too, plan for 150 sq ft.
Our guide to storing furniture in a storage unit shows how to stand sofas, stack tables and fill the height, which is often the difference between two sizes.
What else to budget for
- Payment in advance. Storage is paid ahead for each period, not at the end. Our prices are per four weeks, so six months (26 weeks) is six and a half four-week prices, not six.
- VAT. Nothing is added at checkout: the total in your quote is what you pay, and our prices include VAT.
- A refundable deposit of two weeks' rent at your unit's standard weekly rate, paid when you book and refunded within 21 days of the end of your agreement (clause 4) once the unit is left clean and empty.
- Contents cover. Your furniture must be insured while it's stored, either through our contents protection or your own policy. It isn't included in the unit price.
- A padlock and packing materials, if you don't already have them.
Ways to pay less
- Pick the right size, not the safe size. Taking apart beds and tables, and stacking boxes to the ceiling, can drop you a whole size band.
- Ask about upper floors. At some sites, upper-floor units are listed for less than the same size on the ground floor. At Leatherhead, for example, a 150 sq ft unit is £612 upstairs and £768 on the ground floor.
- Use the introductory offer. Our price lists show half-price offers on the first weeks at many sites. Offers vary by site and change, so check the current one in the quote.
- End it as soon as you're done. Either side can end the agreement with written notice; the notice period is shown on your agreement. Ask us how your final period will be worked out when you give notice, so you know what the last payment covers.
