We don't have a published discount for the Armed Forces or for charities, and there's no general student discount across our sites. The one exception is Lincoln, where our booking page lists an extra student discount on the 16 sq ft unit; ask the Lincoln team how much it is and what proof they need. Introductory offers for new customers are set site by site and vary by unit size, some sizes show none, and your quote shows what applies. The same short terms apply to everyone: a two-week minimum stay, notice normally 14 days, and a refund of unused days when you leave.
Group by group
| You are | Group discount | What does apply |
|---|---|---|
| A student, or a parent paying | No general scheme. Lincoln's booking page lists an extra student discount on its 16 sq ft unit, amount not published | The site's introductory offer; small units and lockers; two-week minimum |
| Serving, reserve or veteran, or a forces family | None published | The site's introductory offer; short minimum and notice, so storage can follow the posting |
| A charity, club or community group | None published | The site's introductory offer; the same short terms, so a committee can trial a unit |
We don't publish a forces or charity rate. You're welcome to ask when you book, but plan on the standard price and whatever introductory offer your site is running.
The offer everyone gets
Introductory offers are open to any new customer, but they're set site by site, and some cover only certain sizes or unit types. This is what our location pages showed in late September 2026:
| Site | Introductory offer |
|---|---|
| Bath, Bristol Hengrove, Dorking | 50% off the first 8 weeks on selected sizes |
| Bromsgrove, Cheltenham, Warminster | 50% off the first 8 weeks |
| Marlow, Reading | Up to 50% off the first 8 weeks |
| Burton-on-Trent, Tewkesbury | 75% off the first 8 weeks on selected sizes |
| Lincoln | 50% off the first 12 weeks |
| Leatherhead | 50% off the first 4 weeks on first-floor units |
| Chipping Norton | 50% off the first 4 weeks on drive-up units |
| Shipston-on-Stour | 50% off the first 8 weeks on container storage |
| Alton, March | Ask for today's offer when you book |
Offers change, and some apply only to certain sizes, so the quote you get is the final word on what you'll pay.
One condition matters here. Clause 6 (in the list that begins "You acknowledge that", point (c)) of our storage agreement says that if you don't pay your fees on the due date, "the value of any discounts and special offers (including periods of free storage) which You have received will be payable by You in full". Keep payments on time and the discount stays a discount.
If you're planning a longer stay or thinking of paying ahead, see our long-term storage and upfront payment guide.
If you're a student
Our Lincoln booking page lists an "additional student discount" as a feature of the 16 sq ft unit. The amount and the proof of student status aren't published, so call 0800 2545585 or ask the Lincoln team before you book. On our September 2026 price list, that unit is £13.50 a week at list price, or £54 for four weeks. With Lincoln's 50% off the first 12 weeks, a 12-week summer comes to £81 instead of £162, before any student discount. Nothing is added at checkout: the total in your quote is what you pay, and our prices include VAT.
At our other sites, students pay the same prices as everyone else and get the same introductory offer. Our student storage page covers the small units and lockers most students use. If a parent is paying, they can hold the agreement and add the student as an authorised user; our parents' guide explains how.
If you're in the Armed Forces or a forces family
The Armed Forces Covenant is a national promise that people who serve or have served, and their families, "should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services". For storage, the disadvantage that usually bites is dates you don't control: a posting that moves, a deployment extended at short notice.
That's where our terms help. The minimum stay is two weeks. Notice is normally 14 days, as set out on the front page of your agreement, and unused days you've paid for are refunded after you leave. So storage can end soon after the posting does, with no long contract to buy your way out of. Our guide for forces families walks through postings, deployments and handing access to a partner.
If you'll be paying from abroad, keep a UK payment method valid for the whole stay, and update it before a card expires or you change banks: a missed payment makes the introductory discount payable in full under clause 6 (in the list that begins "You acknowledge that", point (c)). See how to pay and update your card.
If you're a charity or community group
We don't run a charity rate, a free-unit scheme or a club discount. What a committee can plan around is a known price from a quote, any introductory offer your site is running, a two-week minimum that lets you trial a unit, and notice that's normally 14 days if your plans change. Contents cover is a requirement, so budget for it alongside the rent. Ask when you book whether the agreement and invoices can be in the charity's name; see what documents you need to rent a unit and VAT invoices for business storage. Our practical guide for charities and community groups covers volunteer access, budgeting and what to check before signing.
