Who owns Wigwam Self Storage, and is it independent?

Wigwam Self Storage belongs to Wigwam Storage Management Limited (company number 11913942), a private company. On the Companies House register on 30 September 2026, every person or company with significant control of it, followed level by level, leads back to its three directors, and no larger group or listed company appears on the register. Those three directors are Frederick James Crichton-Stuart, Nicholas Rory Alexander Grant and Dominic Henry Johnstone White.

Whether you already store with us, are about to book, or are acting for someone, go to the section on who your agreement is with: our conditions don't name the company.

The company behind the brand

Who controls it: the register, level by level

A person with significant control is usually anyone with more than 25% of a company's shares or voting rights, anyone who can appoint or remove a majority of its directors, or anyone who can otherwise influence or control it. That is Companies House's own definition. A holding of 25% or less doesn't, on its own, put someone on this register.

On 30 September 2026, Companies House listed three persons with significant control of Wigwam Storage Management Limited, each holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of its shares and votes: Frederick James Crichton-Stuart, Nicholas Rory Alexander Grant, and Countrywide Storage Chipping Norton Limited (company number 11749880). Here is what the register showed, level by level:

Company Persons with significant control
Wigwam Storage Management Limited (11913942) Countrywide Storage Chipping Norton Limited: more than 25% but not more than 50% of shares and votes. Frederick James Crichton-Stuart and Nicholas Rory Alexander Grant: each more than 25% but not more than 50% of shares and votes, and the right to appoint or remove directors
Countrywide Storage Chipping Norton Limited (11749880) Dominic Henry Johnstone White and Workham European Property Limited (03965569): each more than 25% but not more than 50% of shares and votes. Frederick James Crichton-Stuart and Nicholas Rory Alexander Grant: each has significant influence or control
Workham European Property Limited (03965569) Dominic Henry Johnstone White: has significant influence or control

No person or company is registered as holding more than half of Wigwam Storage Management Limited.

This is a snapshot. Companies House updates as filings come in, so check the live register (links under Sources) for today's position.

Is Wigwam independent and family-owned?

The one company on Wigwam Storage Management Limited's register, Countrywide Storage Chipping Norton Limited, lists as its persons with significant control Wigwam Storage Management Limited's three directors and Workham European Property Limited, a company whose own register names one of those directors, Dominic Henry Johnstone White, as its person with significant control.

A 2024 Green Street News report described Paloma Capital's "joint venture with Wigwam Storage Management"; Paloma doesn't appear on the Companies House register as a person with significant control of the company.

Our About page describes us as "an independent, family-owned self-storage provider". The Companies House register records who controls a company, not family relationships.

The Wigwam Storage Management website's About page says: "we specialise in developing, managing, and operating high-performing self storage facilities across the UK". Which company owns or runs a given site isn't set out on our pages; our guide to Wigwam Self Storage and Wigwam Storage Management covers how the brand and the company relate. If it matters to your decision, ask us before you book (see the questions at the end of this page).

Who your agreement is with

Your agreement is with the "Self Storage Business", as our conditions define it: "“We”, “Us” or “Our” means the Self Storage Business." The agreement is "made up of the Cover Sheet and these Conditions", and the facility is the premises "operated by the Self Storage Business, the address of which is detailed on the Cover Sheet".

The conditions don't name the company that is the Self Storage Business. To know which company your agreement is with, ask us, or check your Cover Sheet. If you haven't booked yet, ask us which company your agreement would be with at the site you want.

If that company changes, the terms cover it. Under clause 46(j), we may transfer our rights under the agreement to another organisation, and the clause says we will let you know if we plan to.

Checking us out for a business account

For supplier checks, the details above identify the company behind the brand: the registered name, company number 11913942 and the registered office. As the counterparty, record the company your agreement is with (see the section above). The overview page also shows filing dates: the latest accounts were made up to 30 April 2025, the next are due by 31 January 2027, and the last confirmation statement is dated 25 July 2026. On the register, "Active" means the company has not been dissolved, and no accounts or confirmation statement were shown as overdue; that is its filing position, not a measure of its finances. For invoices, see do you provide VAT invoices for business storage.

If you're acting for someone else

If you hold a lasting power of attorney, or you're sorting out an estate, the legal name you need for your records is the company the agreement is with, not the brand name. Ask us which company that is, or check the Cover Sheet. Our guide on whether someone else can sign the storage agreement covers acting for another person.
